How much does an AI chatbot or automation project cost in Ontario?

Ease AI publishes fixed ranges: $3,500–$8,000 for a single chatbot or workflow, $8,000–$20,000 for a multi-workflow build, and $20,000–$35,000 for a multi-department programme. Ongoing support runs $500–$2,000 a month and is optional.

Can Ontario grants pay for AI implementation?

Often, yes. Ontario's DMAP grant provides up to $15,000 at a 50% match and explicitly funds hiring an external consultant to produce a digital modernization and adoption plan. BDC's LIFT programme offers financing from $25,000 to $5 million, including for expert advisory support. Eligibility varies and no outcome can be promised.

How long does a project take?

A single chatbot or workflow typically takes two to three weeks. A multi-workflow build takes four to six. Larger programmes run eight to twelve. These are the timelines quoted upfront, not estimates that drift.

Which areas does Ease AI serve?

In person: Burlington, Oakville, Milton, Hamilton, Grimsby, St. Catharines, the wider Niagara Region, London, Mississauga and Toronto, plus surrounding Halton, Golden Horseshoe and southwestern Ontario communities. There is a lot of money being made right now selling AI to businesses that do not need it. The scorecard on this site genuinely can return “probably not yet”, and when it does, that is the advice — not a softer pitch for a smaller package.

Four steps, and you can stop after any of them.

A conversation, free

Thirty minutes on what is actually costing you time. You will get a straight answer about whether this is worth doing at all. Roughly a third of these end with a recommendation to do nothing, or to fix something that is not an AI problem.

A written diagnostic

We map the process as it genuinely happens — not as the org chart says it does — and write down what to automate, in what order, at what cost. You own the document. If you take it to another firm, that is a legitimate outcome. This is also the stage Ontario’s DMAP grant is designed to fund.

Build, against a fixed price

The price and the date are agreed before work starts. You see it working in a staging environment before it touches anything live. Exceptions route to a human rather than failing silently, and every automated action is logged.

Measure, then decide

We agreed what success looks like in step two, so at the end we can check. If a build did not deliver, that gets said out loud. Ongoing support is optional and month-to-month — never a lock-in that outlives its usefulness.

We audited ten AI agencies competing in this market. Not one of them publishes anything about government funding. Some of them are still advertising help with CDAP, a programme that closed in February 2024.
